Assignment 3

Hi, this is my response to Assignment 3.

The development of Canada has significantly increased over the past centuries. The urbanization of Canada, introduced last century, has made everything easy for us. I predict that in 2109, we will be relying on technology to do everything for us. Nobody is willing to do the work and this is having many negative impacts on Earth. Since the past century we have been able to develop so much. This includes all the roads, buildings, factories, shops, companies and houses. Though, if we want to preserve Earth in a good condition 100 years from now, there are many changes to be made.

Here are some of my predictions for next 100 years...

-we might come across some crucial impacts which could severely act upon our lives: earthquakes or maybe even tsunamis

-we also might get our first black woman to be the Prime Minister of Canada

-In 100 years schools will be teaching differently

-there might also be robots taking over our jobs

-there might be new ways to travel instead of cars

-maybe we will finally see how global warming will greatly impact us

-we might discover a cure for cancer

-all the continents might merge together forming Pangaea once again

-a meteor might crash down in the next 100 years

There are also many good things that we might experience in the next hundred years. There will be new devices and technologies making our life even more appealing. We can already see some development of the futuristic devices. 2109 will be full of mysteries. Almost everything you can imagine will change. One hundred years is a long period of time, who knows what can happen?

Amit,

This entry is looking good, although I'm a little confused. You've said that you think technology is going to destroy things and make people very lazy and turn the earth into a "ball of dirt", but you've also said that technology will make our lives earlier. It's easy to understand why you're torn - it's difficult to know whether technology is good or bad. It's certainly not JUST one or the other. There are elements that affect our lives in all different ways.

In conclusion to my last message, how do you feel about technology? Do you embrace it? Are you a little fearful of it? Why?

I've changed my entry a little bit... I feel somewhat fearful about technology but i also embrace it. It might make us so lazy that in the future we might not even walk. The reason why I do like it is because its always fun to have new devices. It makes the world more exciting and interesting.

Hi Amit,

Two quick things:

First, look up Kim Campbell - Canada has had our first female Prime Minister already! I'd love if in the next hundred years, we had another, though!

Second, do some research on Pangea and the continental drift. Do you think it is possible for all continents to merge in only 100 years? That is truly a blink of an eye for things like continental drift. However, if the techtonic plates hit or overlap, disasters like tsunamis, volcanoes and earthquakes can occur.
